The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
