Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can now express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started spending more time together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without joy".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate put a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the tragedy, public individuals offered varying reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were met with immediate backlash by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan characterized the statements as "disturbing" and remarked they showed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an associate should have intervened when the impulse to speak on the passing was made.
