Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
